Job Summary

FT Services has been acquired by AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner with a background in Piping to join our team at IOL Kearl. This is a 10/10 permanent position.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ROLES

  • Review and interpret client work scopes including drawings, specifications, data sheets, standards

  • Prepare required project FIWP, which includes determining required activities, resources, special conditions, quality control, risk planning, safety and interdependencies

  • Knowing, understanding and communicating the safety regulations (Occupational Health and Safety Act) and project specific safety policies and procedures

  • Breakdown work scopes into a work breakdown structure in line with FT Services’ standard procedures and/or industry practices, as well as Client turnover needs

  • Reviewing FIWP for completeness and accuracy

  • Monitoring and controlling FIWP and advising appropriate parties

  • Update the Engineering Work Packages (EWPs) to FIWP mapping as to the status of the Field Installation Work Packages (FIWPs).

  • Estimate labour, equipment, materials, subcontracts quantities required for a given work scope

  • Interface with Project Controls peers for control of estimates and/or the schedule

  • Provide step listings relevant to the specified Schedule level required

  • Make recommendations to improve productivity and reduce cost

  • Act as a liaison with the main Project Scheduler to provide updated information from planning meetings (Progress).

  • Coordinate integrated schedule reviews with all parties to reduce schedule duration and best level resources across the project(s)

  • Interact with procurement, supervision, management and quality departments for input to estimates or the work plan

  • Ensure any additional scope is identified and entered into the Schedule.

  • Flag late tasks that have been identified during planning meetings.

  • Keep a line of site on the look-ahead reports to ensure the packages are delivered from the Front End.

  • Identify specific risks associated with executing the planned activities

  • Resolve logic and schedule related conflicts through close interaction with the client, other planners and management

  • Comply with FT Services’ Risk Management, Quality Assurance and Health, Safety and Environment management systems, including statutory obligations

  • Promote a positive HSSE culture in the workplace by maintaining safe work practices & a safe & healthy work environment

  • All key responsibilities related to projects on/off site for the client will be assessed against targets as set by the Contract Manager

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience including trade in Oil, Gas and Chemical or a related industry

  • Experience in Turnaround planning is an asset

  • Basic level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes

  • Ability to read and understand Design Drawings & MTOs.

  • An ability to liaise at all levels with internal and external customers

  • Skilled in oral and written communication (English Language).

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Hands on SAP R3 Plant Maintenance or other CMMS system experience.

  • Exposure to scheduling system, e.g., Primavera

  • Proficiency in MS Excel

Education

  • High School Diploma

  • Instrumentation Journeyman (Interprovincial Red Seal)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering from a recognized educational institute is an asset

  • WorkFace Planning (WFP) is an asset

  • Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) is an asset
