The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking an RTMC Operator for Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is a full-time position. Operators are responsible for monitoring the roadways, including detecting, confirming, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic events and congestion according to established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Monitor the roadways, including detecting, confirming, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic events and congestion according to established policies and procedures.
Prioritize and perform real-time traffic management activities within time constraints during crisis or other stressful situations
Monitor and process information from closed circuit television cameras, roadway detection systems, radio communications and scanners
Read, interpret and act in accordance with technical documents such as system rules and operating procedures or guidelines
High school diploma or equivalent
Full-range of physical mobility, visual acuity and the ability to sit for long periods of time
Familiarity with local freeways and arterial roads
Effective written and oral communication skills
Operational knowledge and skill in the use of Window’s operating system, Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work alternate schedules (nights, weekends and holidays) and short-notice work assignments
Experience in a police/fire or transportation dispatch or call center environment is preferred
Knowledge of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
Knowledge of Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and/or Highway Advisory Radio (HAR)
Knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus
