About the Business Line


We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

The Water Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Manager for immediate employment in Farmington, New Mexico. This position will be part of a project team and will work at the client site.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides managerial and technical direction for projects at the client site

  • Sets example for client-compliant safe work practices and assures that supervised workforce are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated, so that plant projects can be accomplished in a safe, efficient manner

  • Implements, plans and manages various programs to improve the operation and maintenance of the plant

  • Reviews all systems and ongoing construction efforts to proactively diagnose and recommend corrective action as needed

  • Reviews all vital information on goals and production progress

  • Prepares and maintains a variety of reports, logs, meters, and charts as needed

  • Communicates regularly by email, standard report, or verbally on conditions, status, progress, and open items

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 8+ years of experience in the development, coordination, and execution of the planning, design and/or construction management of Industrial Plant facilities or facility improvements

  • Qualified applicants will have experience in most of the following: Work package planning, procedure development / technical writing, project estimating, safety, performance testing, quality assurance and management information systems, material procurement and vendor contract development

  • Must have experience acting as an advisor to subordinates in order to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems

  • Must have strong background in developing, monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing construction schedules and progress

  • Seeking candidates with experience in the following industries – Power, Nuclear or Fossil

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, and kneel repetitively

  • Able to move in a 90-degree fashion and stretch/reach on a repetitive basis

  • Able to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
