We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Mechanical Engineer for immediate employment for the Edmonton office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation, execution and delivery of financial business plans, project plans, and BD plans

  • Effectively manage projects on time and on budget with quality meeting client expectations

  • Support cross-selling initiatives and proposal development between business lines and geographies

  • Ensure compliance of technical and quality requirements and standards

  • Lead compliance with corporate safety goals and initiatives

  • Support development and execution of geographic and business line strategy

  • Assist with identifying and promoting growth in strategic markets as well as with strategic clients

  • Promote mentor / mentee relationships through the engagement of both junior and senior staff

  • Contribute significantly to the successful design, production, coordination, and management of buildings projects

  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal team members in the design and specification development of mechanical building systems

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC standards and programs

  • Ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis) comply with requirements, applicable regulations and standards, corporate procedures, and sound engineering practices

  • Work closely with other disciplines: Engineers; Architects; Designers; Project Managers, as a key team player within integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • 10+ years of building systems experience, including 7+ years of experience leading professional design teams

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer

  • Working knowledge of applicable local and national building codes and common mechanical engineering software

  • Well-rounded background in mechanical project design (industrial and commercial), with a delivery record of success meeting project requirements and challenges

  • Background in building mechanical design (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, process and Building Automation Systems)

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Experienced working in multi-disciplinary teams delivering projects of various complexity, size, and scope

  • Experienced working in a 3D environment, where Autodesk Revit modeling software is used

  • Must possess a valid driver's license as travel to other locations may be required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years' experience preferred

  • Member of ASHRAE

  • Member of ASPE

  • Member of APEGA

  • Experienced with Industrial design and MR process

  • Experienced with Managing multi-disciplinary projects of varying size ($5M to $100M)

  • Experienced with Industrial PFD & PID’s

  • Experienced with LEED design

  • Experienced with ASHRAE 90.1 Design

  • Experienced with EE4 and eQuest

  • P3 and/or Design Build Experience
