Our Edinburgh office is one of our key growth offices, servicing a range of clients including the Environment Agency, water companies and authorities, local authorities, private developers and overseas clients. We work across the region and nationally, as well as having significant inputs to international projects in the Middle East in particular. The office offers an excellent working and living environment for staff, located in the heart of Edinburgh.

As a Civil Engineer you will manage the technical and commercial aspects of projects from feasibility to detailed design and be able to carry out technical reviews of calculations, drawings and other design aspects.

As the successful candidate, you will hold a BEng/MEng in a related engineering field with experience in civil engineering.

This is a key role within the Water Engineering Team and offers the potential of progression for the right candidate.

  • Undertake engineering design duties interfacing with all internal and external design disciplines,

  • Undertake Project Manager duties using internal systems and also under NEC PSC contracts with Clients, including change control management,

  • Assist in the efficient running of the Edinburgh Water Engineering Team, and in personal and technical development of team members.

Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering Degree in a relevant subject such as Civil, Structural or Environmental Engineering,

  • Significant and demonstrable experience relating to some or all of the following: potable water engineering and surface and foul water drainage,

  • Experience of managing projects, delegating tasks and technical mentoring,

  • Experience of direct liaison with Clients at a Project Manager level,

  • Understanding of CDM 2015 & DWQR Regulations

  • Experience with BIM Level 2 and CAD 3D

  • Chartered (or working towards) Member of a relevant Professional Institution (ICE/CIWEM),

  • Engineering Degree

  • Conversant with Microsoft applications; Word, Excel, Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of working for UK water companies and local water authorities,

  • Experience of preparing SW Drainage Strategies for developers, UK water companies and local water authorities.
