Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

Working in an interdisciplinary team the Environmental Consultant will provide support to a range of clients on:

  • Industrial Emissions Licence and Integrated Pollution Control Licence support, Due Diligence Auditing and Environmental Management Systems.

  • Working with a wide range of clients including private sector and government.

  • Assisting with drafting client proposals, reports and presentations under direction from senior staff.

  • Attending seminars/conferences on related topics, and sharing knowledge gained with the team.

  • Depending on interest and experience, as well as business priorities, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of wider projects delivered by the business.

Our team of Environmental specialists deliver a range of exciting and varied projects across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. We work in dynamic and challenging environments, in multi-disciplinary teams delivering solutions to a broad base of client sectors including development, energy, oil and gas, water, government and transportation.

The successful applicant will be part of a wider team working on supporting clients with IE/IPC/Waste Licences, environmental due diligence auditing, environmental management system audits and research projects on such topics as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and ODS/F-gases.

It is anticipated that the candidate will progressively expand their technical knowledge, soft skills and project management capabilities.

Specifically this role will consist of:

  • Assisting industrial clients with IE/IPC licence conditions such as AER/PRTR preparation, preparation of Residual Management Plans and Environmental Liability Risk Assessments;

  • Carrying out site inspections which will involve preparation of Health and Safety plans, completing site inspection protocols and preparing site inspection reports;

  • Communicating with a range of clients on IE/IPC licence topics;

  • Carrying out Due Diligence audits, reviewing data received and preparing audit reports;

  • Assisting with research projects which will involve reviewing scientific data, European Directives and Irish Statutory Instruments and disseminating the information to the project team.

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and a degree in a relevant subject such as environmental science covering a range of relevant skills and topics.

More specifically, skills required include:

  • Practical experience of environmental science related work. This may include experience with IE Licences, Waste Permits, auditing etc.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, to facilitate analysis of quantitative as well as qualitative data.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Business acumen – a good basic understanding of business will be a key strength when preparing reports and communicating with clients.

  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills to assist in managing work on multiple projects.

  • A strong team player who is disciplined and motivated, with the capacity for independent working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Microsoft Office skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Desirable skills/qualifications include:

  • Degree or Masters Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. environmental science).

  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation (e.g. IEMA, ICRS, CIWEM).
