Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a Senior QA / QC Engineer to be based in Qatar and focus on the delivery of a large mixed-use Tower. The Senior QA / QC Engineer reports to the Quality Management for the development, implementation and maintenance of a Quality Assurance Program which monitors and documents the effectiveness of quality control measures used throughout the project.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining organisation's ISO certification

  • Coordinating the local Quality Team

  • Establishing and monitoring local objectives related to the IMS

  • Participating with senior management in determining IMS requirements

  • Controlling system documentation for the region

  • Maintaining the regional/office internal audit schedule

  • Conducting internal audits as required

  • Registering, distributing and tracking resolution of non-conformance

  • Coordinating external audits (2nd and 3rd party audits)

  • Facilitating development and delivery of training material related to IMS processes to create a culture of embracing the IMS through awareness and competence

  • Continuous improvement of the IMS through regional procedures and contributions to IMS improvements

  • Recording and identifying trends in non-conformance

  • Attending IMS Review Meetings

  • Facilitating of risk identification and mitigation in projects

  • Monthly reports to Corporate Quality Manager

  • Assisting Client Feedback Survey process

  • Maintaining Green Office Plan objectives

  • Ensuring that all deliverable, undergo checking and verification before being released to client/sub-consultant

  • Assisting reviews of IMS procedures and document control and ensuring implementation is in compliance with contract requirements on regional sites

  • Working in conjunction with project managers to ensure that all quality standards and issues are identified and addressed

  • Facilitating sub-consultant and sub-contractor selection and assessments

  • Conducting and/or participating in quality or technical compliance audits for contractors, sub contractors or vendors

  • Reviewing the contract documents for each construction package in respect of quality requirements and procedures and advising the project manager and contracts team of any deficiencies.

  • Reviewing the quality plans as submitted by the contractors and ensuring compliance with contract requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering from a reputable university is required. In addition, the incumbent must have a Lead Auditor certification and at least 10 years of experience working on mixed-use developments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong quality of reporting and analysis in regard to business processes in the region

  • Successful ISO certification for the organization

  • Quality and depth of recommendations in particular in relation to Quality Assurance standards

  • Ability to understand and manage the commercial regional operations of the business from a quality prospective

  • Degree of protection afforded to the company through strong service delivery controls

  • Strong management system background with experience in the Engineering Consultancy/Project Management preferred

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to ensure delivery of high quality service standards
