Job Summary

AECOM a recuiting a Senior Land Surveyor to work on a Roads / Infrastruture project in Qatar. Reporting to the Senior Resident Engineer, the Senior Land Surveyor is responsible for all aspects checking the setting out of checking of all construction activities and verification of the accuracy to defined tolerances of the constructed works. The Senior Land Surveyor is also responsible for acquiring and storing all as-built data and updating the construction issue drawings.

Duties & Responsibilities

The main responsibility is to ensure the daily field survey checking of all construction activities and acquiring and storing all as-built data.

The Senior Land Surveyor is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Preparing and maintaining sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed

  • Verifying the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted

  • Directing or conducting surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles

  • Recording the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features

  • Calculating heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain

  • Supervising the preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys

  • Ensuring joint survey measurement are agreed with the Contractor for interim payments

  • Reporting where the as constructed works are out of tolerance immediately to the Senior Resident Engineer for escalation. The Contractor will be given a Non-Conformance Report (NCR) that the work must be remedied or removed, as appropriate

  • Ensuring as–built surveys are completed and supervise the production of the as-built drawings

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc, BEng, BA or equivalent – Western qualification preferred but not essential

  • Chartered Status/Professional License preferred but not essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years experience since obtaining maximum educational qualification

  • Minimum 5 years experience in similar project specific role of which are in a supervisory and Construction management role in infrastructure and roads projects. Familiar with requirements of Project Works Authority in Qatar

  • Minimum 10 years experience since obtaining minimum educational qualification and minimum 7 years similar experience

  • Experience within the Middle East region preferred

  • Possess a valid driver’s licence
