About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Staff Geotechnical Engineer for immediate employment in the Denver, CO office.
Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Perform geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, settlement, and seismic
Conduct field exploration, collect samples, analyze data and review geotechnical samples for laboratory testing Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Demonstrated ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering or other related field required
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
Must have 2 years of experience; Candidates with a Master’s Degree or PhD with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering may enter at this level
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as: Excel, Word, gINT, GeoStudio,UTexas4, FLAC, SHAKE, QUAD4 and AutoCAD and/or Civil3D)
Must have familiarity with numerical modeling of soils and earth structures
- Experience with FLAC
