Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Mining Market Sector Leader for our Rocky Mountain area. Our global mining growth plan is a key element of our AECOM business plan. Consequently, the selected candidate will enjoy the full support of regional resources through a committed interdisciplinary team environment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a senior leader with direct responsibility for the sales, growth and ongoing service delivery to the Rocky Mountain Area Mining Industry

  • Responsible for articulating the vision and goals for the mining business line and developing an annual Market Outlook and Strategic Business Development Plan drawing on both internal and external sources of market intelligence

  • Provide a comprehensive leadership, operational oversight, strategic vision, business development management and market representation in leading sales and sustainable revenue for AECOM’s Rocky Mountain mining business

  • Focus on expanding our services with our MSA clients and adding on new MSA clients

  • Lead key pursuits as a capture manager/project manager for opportunities identified with strategic clients

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required and a minimum of 8+ years of experience in the mining or mining service industry

  • Proven, strong leadership ability and project management skills

  • An in-depth understanding of the mining market conditions, drivers and trends

  • Big-picture thinker with the ability to develop a market-intelligence justified business strategy and tactical plan for growth and development in the mining industry

  • Strong understanding of the global mining market in terms of project opportunities, emerging markets and prioritization for their advancement

  • Strength in leading and developing project teams for key project pursuit and execution

  • Strength in collaborating with peers in other office locations and teaming with them for the mutual benefit of all project parties and stakeholders

  • Proven leader in growing mining business by identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to increase revenue growth and expand market penetration

  • Strong communications skills and an ability to interface with personnel at all levels – internally and externally

  • Strong work ethic and ability to set and achieve personal and organizational goals within a culturally dynamic and tradition rich environment

  • Embracement of a health & safety and work culture to provide a safe work space with no incidents and zero injuries

  • Understand and have credible experience in the areas of mining engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance, with an emphasis on program and project management

  • Possess a strategic and commercial mindset as it relates to the EPC/M markets with strong client relationships

  • Requires technical knowledge and expertise in the project lifecycle from front-end engineering/environmental studies to detail engineering and construction management, as well as operational support for on-going mining operations including closure planning and design
