About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Oil and Gas Line Client Account Manager for immediate employment in the Denver, CO office. This is an opportunity to join our dynamic and growing Management team as an Oil & Gas Business Line Client Account Manager (CAM) for our Rocky Mountain Area.
The growth and diversification of the Oil & Gas Business Line is a top initiative, and the successful candidate will enjoy the full support of both regional and local resources through a committed team environment. This position will develop a close working relationship with the Business Line Leader as well as our Mountain Area Management Team.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Supporting a strong, diverse Oil & Gas Business Line team
Maintaining a team-centered, growth-oriented and entrepreneurial business culture that seeks to identify new business opportunities, anticipates and responds to market and client needs, and builds value for the company, clients, and employees through excellent project execution
Managing large and complex projects and performing technical work, with primary focus on environmental and permitting projects; example project work may include water lifecycle management; preparation of NEPA documents; managing biological and cultural resource field teams; permitting and compliance projects for air, water and/or waste at the federal, state and local levels
Applying knowledge of environmental issues facing the Oil & Gas industry to find solutions for clients, whether in traditional resource plays or unconventional resource plays
Contributing technical expertise in environmental or engineering discipline as needed
Monitoring projects within the Oil & Gas Business Line to verify proper project-management practices are incorporated and followed
Verifying appropriate quality, safety, and accounting standards are being followed
Verifying appropriate company-wide expertise is leveraged for project success
Verifying client satisfaction
Providing guidance and coaching to project teams as needed
Establishing strong industry and outside contacts to maintain a keen awareness of major trends, activities, and requirements within the Oil & Gas market
Developing sales strategies and driving business development activities, including marketing efforts, proposals and contract negotiations with key clients
Building key business initiatives with measurable goals and milestones that support the Oil & Gas Business Line and overall company strategy
Identifying key project pursuits and leveraging AECOM company-wide resources to grow the business and relevant technical capabilities
Our CAMs have the opportunity to draw on a group of technical, financial, and marketing staff to assist in producing high-quality deliverables and marketing materials.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or related field
15+ years of total experience, including team leadership, project management and technical work experience in environmental or engineering field
Industry-recognized in upstream and midstream Oil & Gas industry and active in professional societies; a strong network of clients and professional contacts in the Rocky Mountain Area or similar experience and contacts that could lead to client development will be considered
Project management and technical work experience in Oil & Gas industry for projects providing environmental or engineering services; market segments may include but are not limited to: water resources, air permitting, NEPA/ environmental planning, site civil design, and EHS compliance
Solid knowledge of the consulting profession, 5 years of which would have principally focused on managing business development and/or client relationships
Visionary and a strategic thinker with a proven track record for growing operations in a challenging economic environment
Commitment to driving strong business performance, continuous improvement, and best practices
Strong understanding of the Colorado and Mountain Region markets in planning, consulting, design, and construction for the Oil & Gas industry
Successful track record of managing staff with diverse backgrounds
Excellent listening and communication skills
Experience in developing and leading a team
This position requires successful completion of the AECOM Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the AECOM University at no financial cost to the employee
