Job Summary

The Design Consulting Services Division is actively seeking a well-rounded Mechanical Engineer for immediate employment in the Denver, CO office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting challenging projects that offer professional growth opportunities.

The following responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:

  • Mechanical engineering design of exciting and challenging facilities such as commercial, hospitals, retail, restaurants and governmental facilities across the country

  • Assist with the mechanical design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, plumbing and digital control systems for commercial, military, government and institutional facilities

  • Prepare drawings using computer aided design software including Revit and AutoCAD

  • Design of heating, ventilating, air conditioning mechanical systems such as ductwork and heating/cooling piping layout and sizing

  • Design plumbing systems

  • Perform basic calculations and standard computations such as building, heating, and cooling loads utilizing EnergyPro or Trane Trace programs

  • Mechanical equipment energy modeling and life cycle analysis

  • Deliver complete, accurate and coordinated project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying client contractual obligations

  • Perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents

  • Perform construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, construction observations, and responding to client requests

  • Coordinate work with other project disciplines

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • 2+ years of related experience, which includes experience and skills in mechanical systems design

  • Revit experience

  • Energy modeling experience

  • Must have a strong understanding of building’s mechanical systems

  • Good interpersonal, organizational and verbal and written communication skills

  • AutoCAD experience is required

  • Microsoft Office knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • LEED accredited professional

  • Registered engineer in training (EIT) or professional engineer (PE)
