Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Consulting Rotating Equipment Engineer to work in our Denver, Colorado location. This position is contingent upon award of work with the expected hiring time frame to be in January 2017.”

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares, reviews and approves drawings as required.

  • Leads various size groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists.

  • Complies with company’s safety awareness program, office and/or field safety policies.

  • Uses data supplied by the Principal Engineers and/or the Supervising Discipline Engineers to prepare a basic outline of work to be completed and establishes a schedule compatible with project goals and budgets.

  • Develops and documents all calculations for assignments.

  • Prepares and documents economic analyses and other system studies.

  • Provides progress reports and alerts Principal Engineer and Supervising Discipline Engineer about delays and specialized conditions.

  • Prepares and presents expert testimony before regulatory bodies and courts.

  • Prepares and makes presentations to client and company management.

  • Contributes to technical literature in area of specialty.

  • Assists with the preparation of project scope within a specific discipline.

  • Works toward alignment of customer and company objectives.

  • Assists with interpreting codes and permitting as it relates to a specific discipline.

  • Fully understands the use of vendor documents and can review documents for accuracy.

  • Ensures quality, quantity, and completeness of the assigned engineering tasks.

  • Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility.

  • Expresses ideas clearly and listens effectively to the ideas of others.

Minimum Requirements

Mechanical Consulting Engineer I

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering & design.

  • Advanced level of technical understanding of oil & gas rotating equipment design, specifications and data sheet creation.

  • Technical project experience with Alaska north-slope design

Mechanical Consulting Engineer II

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering & design.

  • Advanced level of technical understanding of oil & gas rotating equipment design, specifications and data sheet creation.

  • Technical project experience with Alaska north-slope design

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications

  • Alaska registered PE

  • Professional Engineering Registration

  • Competent in pipe stress analysis

  • Packaged equipment design
