Position Title Facilities Mechanical Engineer 1st shift

AECOM is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer in Decatur, IL. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
This Facilities Mechanical Engineer supports the facilities management team with the planning and execution of facility related projects, including aspects such as determining requirements, estimating, budgeting, project preparation for approvals, contractor safety reviews, contractor coordination, coordination with production and review of contractor compliance with design requirements and contractor safety requirements.
Provide all aspects of plant engineering support including project development, implementation, and commissioning in order to increase facility production and efficiency. Focus on design of lifting devices, transport stands, etc. Troubleshoot and initiate plans for process modifications.
Works independently (i.e. with minimal supervision) as well as within the context of a team environment.
Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and regulations, and records retention.
Prepares and reviews plans, specifications, drawings and schedules to determine work phases and work priorities.
Inspects fieldwork to evaluate construction progress, efficiency of operation and cost control.
Ensures all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.
Understands and complies with all Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) programs and procedures.
Safely performs functions of the position to insure adherence to established safety guidelines such as Arcflash safety procedures, job hazards analysis (JHAs), lockout/tagout, and the wearing of appropriate PPE by technicians and subcontractors performing electrical and other work under your direction.
Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment.
Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university
5+ years’ experience in Industrial facilities engineering design and supervision.
Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization .
This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Working knowledge in of manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities typical of heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of State and Federal (EPA) environmental and safety (OSHA) regulations.
Project coordination experience with scope development , cost estimating capabilities, project development documentation, Quotation development, bidding analysis, and owner, supplier, contractor coordination/management
Experience and proficiency using Autocad 20015 or later to develop drawings to support project development.
Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and familiar with Microsoft Project and Pro Engineer or Wildfire software.
Strong proven skills in team leadership, a self starter, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working within a team environment.
Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends
