About the Business Line


We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Wastewater – Senior Manager for immediate employment in one of AECOM's Texas offices. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities throughout Texas.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing designs for wastewater systems

  • Guiding staff engineers in analysis and design of wastewater systems

  • Local expert within the field of water/wastewater; interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates assignments

  • Make decisions independently on technical problems and methods

  • Plan and prepare, or review, technical specifications and other procurement and contract documents

  • Prepare drawings and visual aids, presentations and oversee development of rapid visualization, GIS and BIM activities

  • Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices including hazard provisions, mitigations and collaboration with structural engineering teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • 15+ years of experience preferably in wastewater design and project management

  • Professional Engineer registration required in Texas

  • Experience in design of wastewater systems with major clients in Texas (Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, etc.)

  • Experience in the areas of piping and conveyance systems, pump and lift stations, treatment facilities, storm drainage conveyance projects, and other municipal and, industrial water and wastewater projects

  • Must have knowledge and/or experience in planning studies, conditions assessment, systems analysis and, rehabilitation projects

  • Team leadership experience supervising engineers, CAD technicians, surveyors and field inspectors

  • Business development experience including client relations, proposal preparation, and professional leadership activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree(s) in related field

  • Licenses in other jurisdictions such as Oklahoma

  • Senior relationships within Top Tier client agencies in Texas

  • Experience on “Signature” projects

  • Knowledge of the installation and construction techniques required in the field and the potential obstacles that may be encountered

  • Active participation/leadership roles in professional societies

  • Experience in industrial wastewater treatment systems is a plus
