Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

The Environment Division of AECOM is actively seeking a self-starting, highly motivated technician for immediate employment in the Dallas, Texas office.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for canister sampler set-up and collection

  • Conducting site visits to 21 site locations every 12 days and installing the next two consecutive sampling events during each visit

  • Servicing remote air monitoring stations over an area extending from Dallas to Wichita Falls and Abilene

  • Remotely check, verify, and record sampler run times, vacuums and pressures

  • Service the 8 canister sampling sites in the network

  • Work with the analytical laboratory (Richardson, Texas) to pick up and drop off air canisters

  • Complete the chain of custody accurately for delivery with the canisters to the laboratory

  • Maintain meticulous records of events/times/weather conditions/sampling information/etc.

  • Capable of operating meteorological systems at these sites

  • Communicate daily with the project manager to provide status updates, discuss concerns, and relay any needs

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple sites

  • Excellent computer skills with technical MS Office, MS Project, MS Excel, and other computer applications.

  • Ability to work in the field exclusively but with communication skills to work with the project team and supervisor

  • Valid driver's license

  • Self-starting, motivated person who can work independently

  • Mechanically handy, safety conscious, with a clean driving record

  • Ability to lift 40 to 50 pounds

  • Ability to keep accurate and thorough activity logs and data records

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science

  • 2+ years of environmental field project experience

  • Experience in the field of air sampling and working with laboratories
