Position Title Engineer I, Civil Engineer

Job Summary


DUTIES: Participate in Water Control Manual projects and Design-Build projects for Federal, State, Municipal, and Private Clients; Perform Water Resource Modeling including Hydrologic and hydraulic Modelling, Hydrologic & Climatic Data Analysis, Floodplain Mapping using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Perform Geotechnical and Civil engineering Design tasks. Participate in the Design of Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems. Produce Drawings/Drafting using CAD; Preparation of Plans and Specifications for Civil Engineering Project, Estimation of Cost and Quantity. Inspection of Dams and Levees. Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control for various Geotechnical Engineering work, review and provide Geotechnical Recommendation based on Lab Results for Soil and Material Testing. Provide onsite Quality Assurance support for construction projects, including repair/rehabilitation work for Dams and Levees. Apply relevant TXDOT, AASHTO, ACI, ASTM, EPA and FEMA regulations/guidelines as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Position requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum 2 years of experience in the offered position or 2 years of experience in a Civil Engineering position. Experience must include the following: Geotechnical Work Experience with TXDOT, AASHTO, ACI, ASTM standards; working Experience as a Water Resource Engineer in Water Control Manual or Reservoir Operation / Flood Control Manual projects; Hydrologic Modelling, Hydraulic Modelling, Floodplain Mapping; ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, Microstation, and GeoPak. Position requires a Texas Certified Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate.
