AECOM is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for our Dahlgren, VA location!
This position will perform Engineering tasks supporting Tomahawk Weapon System engineering and design for NAVAIR. Additional responsibilities are as follows:
Develop Candidate Change Package Training and Logistics Impact Reviews for TTWCS emergent engineering candidates for the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons System.
Oversee maintenance of the Tomahawk Installation Matrix, tracking hardware, software and associated equipment for US Naval Surface fleet tomahawk firing units. This matrix tracks the installation versions of TTWCS, MDS, VLS Baselines, BMD Baselines, NAVSSI, WSN-7, GCCS-M, CANES, AEGIS and other associated equipment. This matrix is used by the logistics and systems engineering community to verify compatibility of installed systems and applicability of Integrated Logistics Support products.
Participate in TTWCS Change Review Board, Engineering Review Board, Tomahawk Systems Engineering Working Group, evaluating Engineering Change Proposals, developmental Change Requests and Fleet feedback Change Requests for operational impact, when and how to fix. Interface with Systems Engineering and Software personnel to assist with interim procedures, technical bulletins, technical notes, and other procedural workarounds for fielded versions of the TTWCS.
Monitor Software Information Management System (SWIMS) and System Design Issue Resolution (SDIR) databases for Fleet Support related change requests. Provide tactical and technical evaluation
and recommendations to Tomahawk systems engineering work group TTWCS Concept Development Group Change Review Board.
Review SWIMS database for developing high priority CRs with FS/ILS impact. Adjudicate these CRs in the CDG CRB and assign, track, and assist with development of work around source material IAW JI-98 when a software fix cannot be implemented in time or when the CR impacts legacy builds.
Evaluate CRs as assigned and provide Technical Investigations and TI input for issues impacting Fleet operational capabilities.
Draft System Development Activity Job Instructions and Concepts of Operations for various aspects of the Tomahawk Weapons System including GPS Cryptographic and Information Assurance security CONOPS.
Prepare and present Tomahawk Systems Engineering Work Group CR and CTDM reports detailing CR impacts, workaround and recommendations for documentation in appropriate vehicle (TTB,TTN,STN,TIP). Track board decisions and assigned action items through workaround publication.
Evaluate logistics products for TTWCS SW version applicability and track end of life for workaround documentation.
Track documentation out for review of TSEWG, Hardware, Software and Fleet Support review items. Assign reviews to various activities. Collect and collate comments and provide to author for adjudication. Provide metrics
A Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; or eight (8) years of demonstrated subject matter expertise in the discipline of logistics functions and applications, including the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E7 level or higher.
In addition, ten (10) years professional or operational experience in developing logistics support requirements and applicable documentation for a DOD major weapon systems program that employs the use of Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products. This includes five (5) years of concurrent experience in logistics management concepts, policies, systems, and practices in order to provide extensive analysis of the current and future logistics infrastructure. Ability to develop logistic support requirements, identify and establish linkages between functions and tasks common to multiple organizational missions. Professional or operational experience in developing logistics support requirements and applicable documentation. Six (6) years of concurrent experience, demonstrated for current Navy programs such as Tomahawk and SLBM, in performing logistics management functions involving the development of training products, sparing allocation, and embedded help/training for a major weapon control system.
US Naval Experience developing, planning, and executing TLAM missions and working with operational TLAM procedures and tactics.
