Job Summary

With over 7,000 people across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMIA), Civil Infrastructure forms a large part of our EMIA business. Bringing together the Transportation and Water sectors, we are delivering critical infrastructure projects for our clients across the geography.

To join our Civil Infrastructure business, AECOM is currently looking to appoint a CAD/BIM Director to lead our team across the UK & Ireland. The CAD/BIM Manager will manage a team CAD Designers across the UK and Ireland to ensure that they acquire and maintain the skills necessary to deliver projects in the evolving CAD/BIM environment. The Manager will be capable of making a significant contribution to the growth of the team by proactively identifying opportunities for business advantage through innovative use of CAD/BIM Modelling technology.

Job/Project Accountabilities:

  • Lead the strategy for CAD/BIM design across the UK and Ireland Civil Infrastructure business.

  • Liaise with the Project Managers with regards to project requirements for CAD/BIM.

  • Implement CAD/BIM modelling techniques and processes to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the production process.

  • Implement and maintain the use company CAD/BIM Modelling Standards and protocols throughout the team.

  • Maintain an overview of developments in IT based CAD/BIM modelling systems and standard Codes of Practice.

  • Ensure all project data is correctly established and maintained in accordance with company standards and project requirements.

  • Monitor resource utilisation and seek opportunities to share staff across the sector and wider business.

  • Contribute and collaborate with the wider AECOM team in developing and implementing new/future technologies.

  • Liaise with the AECOM EMIA BIM Steering Group with regards to the development of CAD/BIM modelling capability.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience leading teams across multiple geographies.

  • Experience developing organisational strategy.

  • A track record of managing operations within engineering design.

  • Proven experience managing project budgets, and overseeing project delivery.

  • An ability to work closely with, and motivate technical contributors.

  • A proven track record of business development with a CAD/BIM focus.

  • The ability to maintain effective working relationships with key people both internally and externally.

  • An overriding determination and commitment to deliver set operational targets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of delivering CAD/BIM at the detailed design stage would be a distinct advantage, with working knowledge of software such as Bentley Rebar and CADS RC.

  • Degree educated in relevant subject.

  • Membership of appropriate institute.
