About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
Recent growth in AECOM's Industrial Water/Wastewater Group has created an opportunity for an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer. Position will be located in our Conshohocken, PA office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD MEP
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Responsible for engineering support on industrial water and wastewater projects
Collaborate with a team of highly experienced senior engineers and AECOM project managers
Support the water/wastewater engineering group on multiple projects within the US and abroad
Assist in developing material balances, process design basis documents, hydraulic and wastewater process simulation models and calculations, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment arrangement drawings and other design deliverables. Size and specify water/wastewater process and mechanical equipment.
Participate in teams involved with consulting and conceptual engineering for our clients through all phases of project execution from conceptual engineering through construction closeout and operations.
Develop engineering estimates and work plans
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental engineering with an emphasis in water/waste water or other related field required
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Strong technical capability and communication skills to support studies, planning, design, and construction of industrial wastewater treatment systems
Expertise in a broad range of engineering associated with wastewater treatment, including physical, chemical and biological treatment processes/technologies, hydraulics, piping, pumping and other mechanical systems
AutoCAD, Hydraulic and Chemistry Modeling Experience
Experience with hydraulics, water chemistry and water treatment process chemistry
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental engineering
