Position Title Biologist/Ecological Risk Assessor

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Biologist/Ecological Risk Assessor for immediate employment in the Conshohocken, PA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead field events for collection of biological (fish, benthic invertebrates, turtles, earthworms, etc.), surface water, sediment, soil, and pore water samples

  • Compile, evaluate, and analyze environmental data

  • Preparation of reports and other technical documents

  • Coordinate work and seek input as appropriate from senior project managers and senior technical resources to make certain that the work is performed safely and consistent with project expectations

  • Participate in aspects of proposal preparation and scoping exercises, such as sourcing and seeking quotes from subcontractors/suppliers

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field (e.g., environmental science, ecology, toxicology)

  • 2+ years of experience with environmental evaluations (Master’s degree can count for 2 years of experience)

  • Knowledge of environmental data collection, investigation, and data entry

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and Power Point)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with use of Trimble GPS units, managing tasks and managing personnel on field teams

  • Must be detail-oriented, thorough, and can effectively manage time

  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment

  • Must be willing to travel for up to a week at a time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field

  • Detail-oriented and have some understanding of risk assessment methodology

  • Experience operating, maintaining, and trailering small motorboats (14’ – 20’)

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems

  • 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training certificate

  • Working knowledge of statistical software (e.g., ProUCL, R, etc.)
