AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Architect Designer for employment in the Conshohocken, PA office.
Candidate would spend most of their time in the Conshohocken office supporting the Facilities Assessment Practice. We are looking for someone with an interest in project management, asset management and new technologies for asset management. The candidate would also have opportunities to work with our architects on large design projects.
Assessment tasks include travel to locations throughout the United States where the candidate will be responsible for architectural and general assessments of a variety of large and/or complex facilities. The candidate can grow into a position where they may be asked to perform whole building assessments of less complex structures as well as. Responsibilities will be focused on working with senior staff to grown towards a role of lead assessor, deputy group manager and certified project manager. An additional opportunity exists to assist in development of an energy assessment service offering by the team. Strong communication skills, including the ability to write technical reports, are required. Lastly, the candidate would be expected to learn the technology tools used for facility condition assessments available throughout AECOM and to integrate the Pennsylvania team into the larger, national practice.
Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Interact with architects within the department in Philadelphia to develop architectural design competencies as it relates to both new construction and building renovation projects
Assist in both design and documentation tasks, coordinating designs with architects and other design disciplines
Development of design models/drawings in both AutoCAD and Revit will be a key aspect of this role. Review of shop drawings and equipment submittals by contractors, and site visits for identification and resolution of issues in the field

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or other related field required
3+ years of relevant work experience
Must have good communications skills, both written and verbal, and be familiar with Microsoft Office programs
Ability to access all areas of a facility, including roofs
Self-starter with leadership skills and a willingness to learn new skills and technology
Must be responsible when the group manager is away for client meetings
Must be able to represent the company in front of clients
Must have the ability to learn AECOM’s project management systems and begin working towards certification immediately
Reliable transportation for work in both Conshohocken and Philadelphia offices
Ability and willingness to travel out of state for several days at a time
Must possess a valid driver's license
Knowledge and familiarity of relevant software packages for analysis and design such as AUTOCAD and REVIT
Familiarity with asset management approaches and software
Project Management experience
Experience with building systems assessments, energy modeling, energy audits, sustainability, etc.
