Job Summary

The Buildings and Places Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented electrical designer/engineer for immediate employment in the Columbus, Ohio office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

Incumbent Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a lead designer on assigned projects and/or complex engineering assignments

  • Oversee the design activities of junior engineers and designers to ensure quality controls and project criteria are met and within budget

  • Provide design and system planning for building’s technology systems

  • Prepare construction drawings and specifications

  • Organize/plan projects and prepare man-hours estimates

  • Provide construction administration services: reviewing shop drawings, field observation reports, responding to RFIs, attending site construction meetings

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s degree

  • 9+ years prior work experience working for a Engineering Consulting firm

  • Experience in the design of healthcare, commercial, jails, and higher educational facilities

  • Experience in the design of technology systems including IT voice and data systems, electronic security, nurse call, DAS, A/V, etc.

  • Familiarity with building standards and codes

  • Field experience providing construction administration services

  • Experience using Revit

  • Strong verbal presentation and communication skills

  • Requires a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering degree

  • RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) Certification

  • EIT or PE

  • Experience in the design of building’s lighting and power systems

  • Project management experience
