AECOM is seeking a Reliability Engineer in Columbus, GA! Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
The Reliability Engineer acts as a Lean Maintenance SME and adds support to maintenance teams with development of strategies that help create processes and programs able to sustain low operating costs and improve asset reliability . This position not only performs evaluations, but also trains teams to identify and eliminate waste, reduce operating and maintenance costs, and increase uptime.
Develops and maintains Reliability Programs, and creates a model that can be utilized across multiple site locations.
Proactively identifies potential project problems or opportunities and analyzes the issues, using all appropriate resources, to develop the optimum approach to mitigating problems and/or exploiting opportunities.
Should be knowledgeable of best in class maintenance practices and predictive maintenance activities
Identifies opportunities, perform root cause analysis, and develop reliability standards associated with proprietary machine tools and testing equipment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
High level maintenance planning and materials management;
Planning for shutdowns, turnarounds and plant outages;
Developing predictive maintenance strategies and training tools;
Performing risk-based asset management and root cause analysis;
Leading reliability and operations excellence.
This position will also be available to support various special projects, asset management, trouble-shooting, and metric and performance measurement development.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Facility Management or a related technical field, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six years of experience in facility engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Some tasks will require the ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday.
Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other AECOM, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Record of proven performance as a Reliability Engineer on previous industrial/manufacturing projects in the Facility/Process Maintenance Management Industry.
Demonstrated leadership ability and exceptional communication skills
Strong technical background in and understanding of operations in an industrial/manufacturing/research facilities environment, including experience related to production equipment projects.
Able to read, understand and follow mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints and other specifications.
Experience with financial and strategic planning or Project Management.
Experience with employee supervision and mentoring.
Demonstrated focus on customer relations and client partnering.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
