AECOM is seeking an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Manager for a manufacturing facility in Columbus, GA! Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
This position is responsible for overseeing and supervising the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities related to safety; on-site lab analysis and protocols; influent and effluent wastewater operations; SCADA and automation systems; corrective and preventive maintenance work order execution; capital projects planning; and Federal, State and Local jurisdictions compliance tracking and reporting.
Successful candidates who are offered a position must hold a current State of Georgia Class I Wastewater Treatment Operator license, or must obtain within 120 days of hire.
The Industrial Wastewater Treatment Manager supervises, coaches, and mentors a team of operators and manages budget, cost control, planning, scheduling, and procedural changes.
Supervises, trains, and develops a team of operators and support staff.
Creates and modifies operations procedures for equipment.
Provides recommendations for corrective action.
Manages water sampling, testing and analysis processes and procedures.
Operates and provides training on various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments.
Performs and supervises internal laboratory tests and analyses to ensure compliance with established permit levels.
Maintains control of wastewater treatment processes and effluent wastewater within permitted levels
Ensures compliance to national, state and local codes, regulations and industry standards on all work.
Complies with established Environmental, Safety and Health (EH&S) programs.
Conducts safety training and actively participates in Safety Committee meetings and safety audits.
Safely performs functions of the position to insure adherence to established safety guidelines such as Arcflash safety procedures, job hazards analysis (JHAs), lockout/tagout, and the wearing of appropriate PPE by technicians and subcontractors performing electrical and other work under your direction.
Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, chemistry or related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years in progressively responsible facilities operations and maintenance activities in an industrial environment, AND
Two+ years of operations and maintenance supervisory experience.
Current State of Georgia Class I Wastewater Treatment Operator license, or the ability to obtain within 120 days of hire.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Some tasks will require the ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday.
Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other AECOM, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Experience supervising a crew of operators in a Wastewater Treatment Plant
Experience with Predictive and Preventive maintenance programs.
Experience with SCADA systems.
Experience using a CMMS.
State certification or formal training from wastewater treatment organizations.
Proficiency with MS Office programs, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
