Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Transportation Planner for employment in the Clifton, NJ office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with field research, data collection, data analysis, graphics, maps and data presentation, as well as report development

  • Assist in design of transportation roadway and civil engineering projects. Focus will be transportation design of roadway projects for municipal and state clients with projects ranging from multi-lane facilities on existing and new locations to large complex freeway and interstate projects with multi-level interchanges.

  • Design tasks typically range from section development, horizontal and vertical design, drainage, traffic control and pavement marking, and utility relocation coordination

  • Support senior planners and/or project managers in producing documents, reports, graphics, 3D modeling, and materials for community outreach

  • Compile data and conducts research in support of project delivery

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design or other related field required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with Land Desktop, AutoCAD, InRoads, InSite, or MicroStation or other related software
