Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Writer located in Cleveland Ohio. The technical writer is responsible for authoring of assigned deliverables. This person executes within the defined document standards proposals, project plans, and as-assigned ad-hoc work. The Technical Writer adheres to the proposal and document processes. This role works with their peers, and is subject to the direction of the Proposal and Project Managers within the given project or scope of work. Author process narratives, process flows, manuals, appendices, templates, and other types of reference or supporting materials. Execute and prioritize work on multiple concurrent projects. Develop, execute, and oversee high-level work plans for project and ad-hoc activities in cooperation with peers and supervisor. Gain approval of templates and other source material. Adhere to standard electronic document production, publication, presentation, and controls. Generate graphical elements for approval. Document process improvement plans, reports, implementations. Gain knowledge and exposure to Business Process Management. Enhance analytical skills to support with process improvement and business process management. Coordinate, facilitate and/or attend necessary meetings, interviews while providing appropriate input and feedback. Ensure completion and delivery of all assignments and provide status of activities to Proposal and/or Project Managers. Ad-hoc project communication as required by project plans / reporting. May be required to perform other duties as assigned not otherwise captured in this position description.

Minimum Requirements

  • Limited (less than 10%) travel may be required.

  • Minimum of College Diploma / Certification College / Diploma Certification required.

  • Post-Secondary Degree preferred (Communications, Technical Communications, English, Literature).

  • Equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience required

  • Good content organization and authoring abilities.

  • Awareness of Project Management.

  • Exposure to Document Management experience.

  • Awareness of Business Process Management.

  • Above-average English writing skills.

  • Excellent English listening and communications skills.
