Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physical Security Specialist located in Cleveland Ohio. The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for leading the successful planning/design and execution of the security details of the project. Has demonstrated knowledge and experience in threat assessments and risk analysis; integrated physical security systems and the appropriate identification and implementation of security measures. Provide technical security input to the project team day to day direction. Ensure staffing plans are developed and functional coverage is maintained for the Project. Perform Performance Management reviews on direct reports to enhance employee development. Identify key project resources and jointly with the Functional Managers develop succession plans for these people. Develop the security system requirements and performance specifications for identified project scope of work. Support the constructability assessments for new projects, by working closely with the project teams and the Client. Lead system integration into the customers security network. Prepare risk analysis of the identified facilities of structures.Lead the project team through the security phase construction. Work with the project team to develop the project schedule and conduct regular reviews and updates to the schedule based on project progress and change. Oversee the change management process and approval of all trends and change orders. Review and provide input into the project turnover strategy (and commissioning where applicable as it pertains to the security system). Work with the Client to finalize agreement on the turnover plan (and commissioning where applicable).Manage and apply risk management to any project risks to ensure risk is minimized. Develop and implement the Project Security design and installation plan. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Mechanical/Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.

  • PMI certification a plus.

  • 10 years of practical experience in security projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of security systems including technical equipment (cameras, sensors, communication, etc.Basic construction techniques.

  • Intermediate knowledge of estimating techniques and strategies.

  • Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, analyze and understand construction drawings, associated documentation, work breakdown structures, etc.

  • Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and to communicate effectively with others, having strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.

  • Able to use work breakdown structures and reporting progress.

  • Expert computer skills.

  • Microsoft excel.

  • Adobe Acrobat.

  • Intermediate computer skills.Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Project).
