Position Title Fire Protection Associate

AECOM has a challenging opportunity for a full-time Fire Protection Associate in the Cleveland, Ohio office. The AECOM Cleveland Office, located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, has full-service architectural/engineering capabilities with a project portfolio that extends globally. The Fire Protection Engineering Group is part of the Buildings + Places Business Line. Responsibilities for the position include preparation of engineering reports, drawings, and specifications associated with the application of building and fire codes and design of fire alarm, fire suppression, and other life safety systems for a variety of buildings, facilities, and occupancies, including healthcare, industrial, college/university, and transportation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
2+ years of experience in engineering design and/or construction
Experience preparing engineering reports and design drawings for fire suppression, fire alarm, and other life safety systems
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well with a team, including those in other offices
Experience with the application of building codes and standards (ICC, NFPA, etc.) to design projects
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Experience with the fire service
Experience with Autodesk programs (AutoCAD, REVIT, etc.)
Experience with hydraulic calculation software
Detail-oriented and internally motivated
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam with intent to seek registration as a Professional Engineer
