Job Summary

AECOM has a great opportunity for a Computer Sciences Engineering Student Intern supporting our program in Cleveland, OH during the summer 2017 season. The selected candidate should have the ability to be a role model, client-focused, impactful and decisive. The Intern will provide support to facility operations and maintenance group for commercial clients, and be expected to work in the AECOM Cleveland, OH office a minimum of 8 hours within normal business hours. The intern will perform data analysis and evaluate/research new software and hardware systems for industrial and facility asset monitoring. AECOM facility operations and maintenance manager will provide the necessary supervision and coaching. Essential responsibilities include performing assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out data analysis tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional responsibilities; review work order data, preventive and corrective maintenance data available in the AECOM Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); perform data analysis and develop custom dashboards by using the Sisense business intelligence tool used by AECOM; research the application of remote monitoring and data collection systems to collect asset information as it relates to the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT); and complete all tasks in a safe manner - AECOM enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. As appropriate, interns are responsible for completing all safety training requirements.

AECOM can offer interns a fulltime position upon meeting the following:

  • Successful university graduation from an Engineering Program.

  • Successful performance as an intern.

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences Engineering.

  • A university student with no more than two academic years remaining before earning a degree. These students are typically rising juniors or rising seniors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and interest in industrial and facility equipment.

  • Programming Languages: Java, SQL, Swift, MS Visual Studio

  • Strong knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position.

  • Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard software.
