Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Sr. EHS Consultant for immediate employment in the Chicago/Warrenville, IL office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide services (execute business) in the areas of:

  • Multi-media (air, waste, water, land, etc.) EHS Compliance including Safety

  • EHS audits and inspections of facilities in the Oil and Gas, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Public (Government) sectors

  • EHS Management System development

  • Technical assistance with regulatory programs

  • EHS training and related programs

  • Sustainability strategies

  • Environmental permitting

  • Develop business strategies and clients seeking the above services

  • Manage EHS compliance and auditing projects

  • Prepare proposals and pricing

  • Mentor and develop junior to mid-level staff

  • Ensure client satisfaction through a high level of service and technical excellence, resulting in repeat and new business

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree

  • 13+ years of experience

  • Technical proficiency in the above compliance or auditing fields (air, waste, water, land)

  • Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to solve complex problems

  • Demonstrated initiative and client relations

  • Experience in developing and managing EHS Audit Programs for large multi-national clients

  • Experience in conducting EHS Audits in the previously mentioned business sectors

  • Ability and enthusiasm to develop business from new and existing clients

  • Ability to establish effective internal and external working relationships

  • Ability to work proficiently with MS Office products

  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed and required including a valid driver’s license and passport

  • Ability to pass security requirements for site access including drug screens and/or background checks required for site entry

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPEA

  • PE, CHMM, CSP, and/or CIH

  • 40 Hour Hazwoper Training/Refresher

  • Experience in a one or more compliance related fields including, but not limited to linear or power sector permitting, water permitting, emergency response, EMIS, and/or industrial hygiene

  • Strong knowledge of firms in the Chicago and NW Indiana market, with relationships at two or more Fortune 500 firms
