Job Summary

Position Summary:

The QA Manager will be responsible for oversight, implementation and maintenance of the

quality program for Chicago Transit Partners Program Management assignment for the CTA

Capital Construction Program. Coordinate and provide expert input in the preparation of

contractual design and construction quality specifications and requirements with intra agency

quality staff. Review consultant and contractor quality plans and lead and participate in

compliance audits.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  •  Provide leadership and direction for the development of policies and plans for quality control for the project.

  •  Develop a monitoring program to ensure design development and completion of work is in compliance with contract specifications as these relate to quality requirements.

  •  Provide technical support to the bid process and proposal evaluation as it relates to quality compliance and implementation.

  •  Provide assistance in audits and verification of consultant and contractor compliance with Quality Management Plans.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experienced in establishing and maintaining quality and safety and security programs for transit oriented projects. Current certification from American Society of Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence is highly preferred. Proven technical knowledge, attention to detail, diligence and drive to review, check and verification of quality compliance with contract requirements. Working knowledge of the FTA Handbook for Transit Safety and Security Certification.

  • Ability to take instructions from, work alongside and exert influence onto the stakeholder community.

  • Ability to form successful partnerships with all stakeholders to build confidence and maximize efficiency, added value and synergies.

  • Ability to promote and deliver high level of customer service to internal clients.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and project team in a proactive and positive manner whether through verbal, written or presentation format.

  • Experience with web-based project management systems and Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management or suitable industry experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years project experience on transit or related industry projects with 5 years in a management position
