Job Summary

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a Construction Senior Project Inspector (TET IV) for immediate employment; the employee will be assigned to the District 2 Office in Chestertown, MD and supporting MDSHA projects throughout District #2 Maryland eastern shore projects. This position will provide roadway and highway inspection support services to project locations across MDSHA District 2.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and perform field inspections to monitor road conditions, bridges, road construction, and traffic, and material using in road construction and repair

  • Act in the interest of the Project Engineer if they are not immediately on project location

  • Participate in various meetings with the contractors and MD SHA

  • Review construction, maintenance or traffic projects for compliance with project specifications and plans

  • Compile quantities and review construction reports and other data

  • Coach, mentor, and recommend training for staff

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma

  • 5+ years of experience with State DOT Transportation Projects focusing on the supervising of construction inspection and contract compliance

  • Required to achieve certification in the field testing procedures in concrete, soil aggregate, hot mix asphalt and National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certification

  • Have a working knowledge of CPM schedule

  • Possess basic computer skills and have proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Must be a self-motivator and be team oriented

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Have a strong willingness to learn

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a reliable means of transportation
