About the Business Line


We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

The Water Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Design-Build for immediate employment in our Chelmsford, MA office. This position will report to our Water Group in Chelmsford, MA. This position is contingent upon award of contract.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the activities in executing a detailed multi-discipline design through AECOM’s design centers

  • Project management for procurement, scheduling, VE or constructability reviews

  • Familiarity with job cost reporting and budget control activities through the life of the project

  • EAC analysis during on-site construction as prime contracting entity

  • Mentoring staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/sanitary/chemical engineering

  • 8+ years of experience in delivering design/build projects

  • PE registration

  • Good understanding of project delivery and ability to facilitate technical discussions

  • Proven project management experience with ability to manage a diverse team

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and manage risk

  • Proven ability to conduct competitive assessments and price to win analysis

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability in working with local and state regulatory agencies

  • Experience in managing both engineering and construction subcontractors

  • Willing and able to travel approximately 20%

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field

  • 15+ years of experience in delivering design build at-risk projects
