Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a Regional Energy Transmission Practice Leader in support of Environmental Siting and Permitting in the Impact Assessment and Capital Permitting/Natural Resources Practice in New England.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Multidisciplinary position involving active business development, project technical execution, project management and leading project teams involving multidisciplinary disciplines

  • This role includes work focused on environmental permit application report preparation and leadership, additional technical report preparation and direction of operations staff on project assignments

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an environmental sciences or ecological sciences

  • 10+ years of applied environmental consulting experience (siting, permitting, project management and business development) with a market focus on electric transmission and distribution, renewables (wind/solar/hydro) development, and FERC-Regulated natural gas transmission

  • Self-motivated

  • Excellent technical writing and interpersonal communication skills, public speaking/oral testimony and have demonstrated project management

  • Outward facing business development including proposal development and client stewardship roles.

  • Practical experience with New England States Energy Facilities Siting Boards, various state DEP/DEC Environmental Permitting Programs, FERC, and federal environmental permitting programs and policies

  • Technical expertise in environmental/energy regulatory programs, wetlands, wildlife, air/water quality and land use policy required

  • Established business development credentials and client focus in the environmental siting and permitting in support of energy transmission projects (electric and natural gas)

  • Established track record of successfully preparing/directing the preparation of environmental siting and permitting submittals for energy generation and transmission projects including Natural Gas Pipelines, Facilities and Electric Transmission Facilities

  • Environmental permitting program regulatory expertise and FERC expertise

  • Ability to execute projects of all sizes and build project teams collaboratively around multidisciplinary projects required

  • Some regional travel required

  • Specific applied experience with an environmental consulting firm and/or regulated energy utility company in an environmental programs capacity

  • US citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • 14+ years of Environmental Consulting experience and/or energy industry experience focused on environmental permitting/siting

  • Professional Certifications
