Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Process Engineer for immediate employment in the Chelmsford, MA office. The successful candidate will complete the process engineering design of environmental control systems for a mix of commercial, industrial and government clients. Our process engineers typically work with wastewater and air pollution control system designs, as well as with environmental remediation systems. Much of our work is in the chemical/petrochemical area. Clients are typically Fortune 500 companies, with locations around the world. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Tasks include problem definition, options evaluations, development of PFDs, heat and material balances, P&IDs, equipment specifications, utilities summaries, system troubleshooting, and optimization operating instructions and other related tasks

  • Travel to plant sites to gather information and present results of study and design work is a part of most projects

  • Work productively in a collaborative team environment, and demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Process, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Detail oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong logic skills and writing skills

  • Documents time and effort accurately

  • Ability to work productively in a team environment

  • Good communication skills

  • Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities / work schedules

  • Able to work independently

  • Self-learner

  • Can take direction from others and in turn can provide guidance to others

  • US citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • PE license or ability to obtain PE license
