About the Business Line


We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

The Environmental Planner is responsible for supporting planning related tasks for a variety of projects including integrated wastewater and stormwater planning, environmental impact analysis and permitting, and climate resiliency.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Land use and socioeconomic data collection and analyses

  • Financial capability and affordability assessments

  • Regulatory review and permitting

  • Coordination with project engineers and clients to identify critical planning issues

  • Preparation and delivery of presentations

  • Assistance with development of reports, permit applications and financial capability and affordability assessments

  • Preparation of narratives and forms for permit applications

  • Assistance with business development opportunities

  • Coordination with project team members to deliver quality products to clients on schedule

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Urban and Regional or Environmental Planning or related field

  • 5+ years of professional experience in conducting planning and environmental studies and assessments

  • Understanding of financial capability and affordability assessments

  • Experience working with communities in providing resiliency and hazard mitigation, particularly in water, transportation, and energy areas

  • Knowledge of GIS applications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client and agency presentations and written report preparation

  • Ability to work with a team of variety of technical disciplines

  • Ability to monitor budget and schedule for all tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Urban and Regional or Environmental Planning​ or related field

  • AICP
