About the Business Line


We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Construction Manager for immediate employment for a short term assignment on-site in West Bank (based out of Ramallah Office and responsible for and with travel to support West Bank and Gaza projects) this is expected to last approximately 4 months.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all aspects of construction supervision including, managing AECOM local subcontractors, planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling activities for a wide range of multi-disciplinary ongoing infrastructure projects; initial projects include a combination of roadway improvements, water infrastructure, and water treatment with an approximate construction value of $100MM. It is expected additional projects will be added as upcoming designs are completed and awarded for construction

  • Responsible for developing and implementing systems to ensure that construction contractors’ quality and safety standards meet requirements; incumbent will review progress and final payments requests for accuracy as a true reflection of the actual executed works

  • Be proactive in identifying any changes in scope, time, or budget in construction activities

  • Monitor progress and report to USAID any anticipated delays that might impact the timeliness of the performance

  • Responsible for the timely communication of contract issues with USAID, the construction contractor, and the site team

  • Act as the primary liaison between the A&E firm, USAID, Palestinian Authority’s representative, and Israelis officials for construction related issues

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • 10 years of experience in being a lead in construction management for large infrastructure programs

  • PE license or equivalent licensing from other countries, as applicable

  • English language fluency, as well as excellent written and oral communications skills

  • The Construction Manager must have strong leadership experience in human resources management and the ability to work in cross-cultural situations with political, cultural and ethnic sensitivities and security environments similar to those found in West Bank-Gaza

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field

  • 5+ years’ experience overseeing construction in the Middle East and/or Developing Country environment

  • Familiarity with FAR and FIDIC based Construction Contracts
