Job Summary

AECOM’s Transportation Group – Southeast Region is growing again! The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising other planners

  • Preparing Reports

  • Making Presentations

  • Any other duties assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors required in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Economics, Public Administration or related subject area(s)

8+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

  1. Project management

  2. Transit planning

  3. Bike/pedestrian

  4. Greenway planning

  • Ability to develop scope/fee estimates for projects

  • Ability to track and manage task budgets and schedule

  • Familiarity with NEPA process

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and communication skills required for client interaction

  • Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office suiteand other relevant planning software

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Transportation Planning

  • 10+ years of transit experience in the public sector

  • Professional certifications such as AICP

  • Ability to manage projects-cost, budgets, schedule, quality control and deliverables

  • Ability to develop project reports and make presentations

  • Experience working on transit projects

  • Experience with local NC municipalities, transit agencies, Southeast DOT's, and approving agencies

  • Experience with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding process
