Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electromagnetic Protection Specialist (EMPS) for our DTRA proposed contract located in Fort Belvoir Virginia. EMP analysis, to include broad radio frequency (RF) spectrum and threats directed through various EM pathways to impact human or automated processes. Pathways include electrical power systems, building, lightning and equipment grounding (tempest); adequately secured and non-secured communications systems; and computer-based information systems. Responsible for conducting EMP analysis using DTRA BSA SOP for EMP.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years operational experience in the military or other comparable civilian position (OCONUS preferred) with focus on Electromagnetic Effects.

  • Competency in Electromagnetic Phenomenology and associated Technologies.

  • Experience in addressing EM protection as it applies across a broad RF spectrum from threats from external or internal sources that could potentially affect human or automated information- based processes.

  • Preparation of power-point presentations, reports, and white papers.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • MS/PhD degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience working as a Licensed Professional Engineer.

  • Experience conducting vulnerability-based assessments similar to BSA Team assessments.

  • Active DoD TS/SCI with in-scope PR.

  • Familiarity with US OCONUS ATFP and foreign intelligence and surveillance procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DODI 3000.08 BSA, January 5, 2010.

  • Familiarity with BSA SOP for EM Specialist.

  • Experience supporting DTRA J10.

  • Verifiable current or recent certification on US/NATO personal weapons, personal NBC equipment, PPE
