Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced

Underground Planner in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and planning of work control documents to support work at the Waste Isolation Pilot Project in Carlsbad, New Mexico. This includes scoping and planning walk-downs to define and bound activity scope, leading work planning teams in the identification and analysis of hazards and selection of controls, interfacing with other support organizations and subject matter experts to provide a work document that will facilitate safe and compliant conduct of work on facility systems and components. The position requires the flexibility to be able to shift between developing mechanical, electrical or I&C work packages and support of plant projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree, or

  • Associates Degree with four (4) years of related experience is required.

  • Must be able to qualify as Radworker 2 and enter Radiological contaminated areas.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Work Planning experience is preferred.

  • Experience in the WIPP mine or mining industry.

  • Experience with use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems is desired.

  • Mechanical equipment maintenance and Underground Utility knowledge.

  • Previous WIPP experience is preferred.
