AECOM has a requirement for a Geometric Lead Engineer to head up our transportation team be base in our Bellville office. The ideal candidate would have extensive experience in Geometric Design on National or Western Cape Government roads and highways projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Project management and take a lead role on major projects
Preparation of road designs, bills of quantities, contract documentation and tender evaluation, administration of construction contracts and ad-hoc site supervision
Project execution and ensure that projects are undertaken to a quality management system, to high technical standards, within budget and programme
Financial management, administration and control of projects
Effective resource management skills
Design oversight, support and management to the project team
Staff development and management
Business development – support or lead tender pursuits and/or proposals for roads projects
Any other work, related to projects in the department, as directed by the Practise Area Manager.
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in a Consulting Engineering environment, specialising in the Transportation sector.
Strong background in terms of Geometric Design on major roads projects.
Demonstrate suitable experience on SANRAL projects.
Experience in BIM for road infrastructure design.
Ability to work independently or in team environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong business networking skills within the industry.
Committed and motivated individual.
Ability to multi-task – work on several projects simultaneously.
Ability to plan, leads, support and execute work independently or within a multi-disciplinary project team environment.
Passionate about skills development and mentoring of junior staff.
Own reliable transport
Proficiency in industry-standard design and project management software, i.e. Civil 3D, MS Project etc.
Although projects will predominantly be in South Africa, the candidate will need to demonstrate a willingness to undertake projects within Africa, while being based in the Bellville office.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
Relevant Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering will be advantageous.
