Our specialists are responsible for the management and control of hundreds of major capital programs totaling over US$300 billion across all continents and market sectors, including transportation/infrastructure, mining and minerals, environmental, facilities, water and energy.

Job Summary

Our Project Management business unit continues to grow to service the Government Infrastructure Framework it has secured. Currently they are working on a number of large scale projects and programs across the UK. As a direct result of this growth we are currently seeking to recruit a full time Project Manager who has experience with DIO projects and NEC3 experience. Airfield experience is desireable not essential. Given the nature of the civils projects that we are working on.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As Project Manager you will work with a Project Director to successfully manage thedelivery of capitalprojects.

  • The role will cover the entire project lifecycle from initial inception through the design and procurement process through delivery and onto the commissioning phase

  • You will possess the skills and experience to lead and manage a team on technically complex projects and for developing collaborative relationships with our clients and other team members

  • Manage and mentor senior project managers to deliver the PM service efficiently and effectively

  • Successful delivery of multiple projects with minimum supervision leading to happy clients and repeat business.

  • Managing internal and external teams including appointing sub consultants

  • Leading multidisciplinary teams in matrix organisations to meet client outcomes.

  • Have the ability to operate effectively within a co-located environment with the Client's, Consultant's and Contractor's project delivery teams.

  • Ability to work within a partnering environment, form effective working relationships and make a positive outcome to the investment programme

  • Programming

  • Managing internal cost expenditure

  • Preparation of monthly PM reports

  • Preparation of Risk Registers

  • Managing multiple Client accounts

  • Developing new opportunities

  • Management and Contract Administration (NEC3) of a portfolio of projects.

  • Commercially and contractually aware.

  • A good understanding of the characteristics of projects, over the project life cycle.

  • Good working knowledge of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques.

  • Solid knowledge of the construction industries technical matters, the different procurement routes, infrastructure construction processes and technologies.

  • Good understanding of project performance metrics including Earned Value Management.

  • Identifying new opportunities and support in the development of bids/tenders.

  • Manage, lead, support and develop a team.

  • Commitment to a high level of ESH performances at the workplace and in the local environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Able to take the lead role on large complex projects and set strategies to deliver the project goals from brief, through procurement and construction to project handover stage

  • Strong experience of delivering technically complex Government infrastructure projects.

  • Experienced in a Client management role – Able to manage the account in terms of projects that are ‘live’, plus seeking new opportunities

  • Experienced and confident at leading internal and external teams, plus Stakeholder Management

  • Commercially aware, in terms of understanding the key components of Cost and Change Management processes

  • Able to prepare project reports, chair and prepare meeting meetings, agree meeting structures

  • Experienced at programming the various stages of a project, along with monitoring and reporting

  • Good Understanding of contracts,

  • Previous experience of managing internal resources, including the training and mentoring of senior staff members

  • Good networking skills

  • Able to seek out and prepare proposals for new opportunities

  • Both site and office based experience on a variety of project types including civil and building infrastructure projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Qualified – ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree

  • MICE Chartered Status preferable, but other equivalent institution also considered.

  • At least 10years of experience in the Project Management of multiple multi-discipline engineering design and construction projects (>£10m Capital Expenditure).
