Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Geologist for employment in the Camarillo, CA office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). Under the responsible charge of a Professional Geologist:

  • Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope

  • Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories

  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance

  • Task management

  • Control project tasks cost, schedule, and quality of work

  • Manage project budgets

  • Review, communicate, and manage the project health and safety plan

  • Conduct soil, soil gas, and groundwater investigations

  • Conduct storm water sampling

  • Preparation of health & safety plans, work plans, reports, and other technical documents

  • Preparation of permit applications

  • Coordination and oversight of subcontractors, including health and safety management

  • Fieldwork, including local travel, and some regional travel, when necessary

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, soil science, agriculture, geology or any scientific related field)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work well in a project team and a fast paced environment

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S Citizenship is required

  • Must be able to pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen and random screens

  • Must be able to pass Medical Screen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Geology

  • GIS working experience with ability to produce client deliverable data, statistics, and completed maps

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)

  • Technical knowledge with investigation and remediation of soil and groundwater contaminated sites

  • Geologist-in-Training (GIT)

  • 40 hour HAZWOPER certification

  • Basic First Aid and CPR certification
