About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Environmental Scientist for employment in the Camarillo, CA office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. AECOM Camarillo has a fast-paced environment with a large and vibrant interdisciplinary practice of geologists, scientists, planners, and engineers.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories
Interpret and record data (in the field and for reports), conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Participate in projects that may include: field work, collecting samples, participating in health and safety procedures (in the field and in the office), data entry, research, interpretation of data, implementation of regulations, and report writing for various types of projects throughout the Western United States
Examples of projects include:
Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
Environmental impact reports
Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, soil science, agriculture, geology or any scientific related field)
Knowledge of environmental data collection, identification, investigation, and data entry
Must be a self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to write clearly and to communicate with knowledge and authority
Capacity to learn and deliver project work on schedule
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Internship or other experience related to environmental research, impact assessment, permitting, water resources, data analysis, or related experience
