Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Workforce Coordinator to be based in our Calgary, Alberta location.

The incumbent will be responsible working directly with the Canadian Operations HUB managers to ensure effective deployment of critical human resources between projects. He/she will be responsible for short and long term manpower forecasting, and for gathering and tracking individual employee competencies and transfer availability, and all related reporting and communications with operations to ensure critical skill sets are on the right projects at the right time. The Workforce Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for employees seeking or requiring a transfer opportunity.

This role is also responsible for liaising with key functional groups such as Human Resources, Proposals, Estimating, Talent Attraction and Finance to ensure all groups have adequate and pro-active line of sight on upcoming manpower needs across Canadian Operations.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Build and maintain an up to date workforce coordination database, by area and/or service line that provides detailed line of sight on individual employees, including their position, skill sets, mobility factor, compensation and tenure.

  • Support in the regular reporting cycle related to employee transfers and transitions.

  • Establish and maintain key communication channels with operations leaders and applicable functions to best understand current and near-term work levels

  • Build, maintain and distribute Manpower Forecasts to communicate near term project and manpower requirements

  • Issuance of timely and targeted communications to operational leaders and relevant employees regarding upcoming and specific work opportunities

  • Liaise with key stakeholders (Proposals, Estimating, Recruitment) to determine and anticipate manpower and transition needs related to upcoming awarded projects in conjunction with current project ramp downs.

  • Travel to Hubs and Projects as required to meet with employees and managers directly to understand skill sets available and required.

  • Coordinate and oversee, alongside HR Advisor and operations, the successful transfer of individual employees between business units.

  • Oversight and guidance on completion of appropriate and relevant documentation related to employee transfers and transitions

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 year Business and/or HR diploma from a recognized institution

  • 4 year Degree in Business/HR preferred

  • RPR and/or CHRP designation considered an asset

  • Experience in oil and gas construction industry with 5+ years in Human Resources or Operations /Construction individual contributor role
