Job Summary

AECOM’s Calgary office is currently seeking a full time Stakeholder Engagement Lead /Environmental Planner to join our dynamic team of professionals within our Environment Business Line. Based in Calgary, the role would support opportunities in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and the Nunavut, Yukon and Northwest territories.

Responsibilities include:

  • Scoping, designing and budgeting Stakeholder Engagement plans for a variety of industries, including: renewable energy, oil and gas, resource extraction, reclamation /remediation, transportation, water and wastewater transportation projects

  • Stakeholder Engagement for municipal, provincial and federal projects

  • Direction and execution of Stakeholder Engagement opportunities

  • Proposal support

  • Coordinating with technical discipline leads and other business lines

  • Growing and maintaining client relationships

Although primarily focused on the design and execution of stakeholder engagement programs, the successful candidate will have the ability to support other business needs such as project management and the development of regulatory applications.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years' experience designing Stakeholder and Indigenous engagement programs

  • Experience in multiple sectors and types of projects

  • Have an active membership with the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) and be knowledgeable of international best practices through leading engagement organizations

  • Experience developing engagement materials, including storyboards, newsletters, information sheets, surveys, social media monitoring, and other methods, consistent with the overall goals of the engagement program

  • Experience facilitating workshops, focus groups, key person interviews

  • Experience with qualitative, and mixed-methods data analysis and reporting

  • Experience with correspondence tracking and reporting methods

  • Demonstrate superior technical and non-technical writing skills

  • Experience with conflict management and resolution, or social impact assessments would be an asset

Preferred Qualifications

  • A biophysical discipline-specific background

  • Proven experience in a specific industry or service

  • Project Management experience
