Job Summary

AECOM is looking for a Planning Lead to join our maintenance team based in Sarnia


  • Develop and implement maintenance, turnaround and small project schedules.

  • Prepare and issue job plans detailing scope of work and resources (labour, materials, tools, equipment, subcontractors) required to safely and effectively execute maintenance and projects work as assigned by the Site Manager.

  • Coordinate with company supervision and client maintenance and operations representatives to ensure timely and effective maintenance and repair of customer assets.

  • Monitor maintenance plans and performance.

  • Proactively manage maintenance schedule backlog and small project portfolio in accordance with company / client maintenance standards and industry best practices.

  • Analyze deviations from the baseline in the project Master Schedule highlighting bottlenecks / delays and propose corrective actions.

  • Analyze and highlight the overall schedule impact of any variance / change order.

  • For approved active projects, with input from the Site and/or Project Manager, be responsible for implementing approved work breakdown structure, time and resource schedules, implementing and monitoring the schedule, identifying trends and recommending corrective action to be taken as required.

  • Compile key performance reporting for assigned scope of work and provide weekly / monthly reporting to Site Manager as required.

Minimum Requirements


  • Minimum 10 years planning and/or supervision in a Heavy Industry, including a minimum of five years’ experience in Turnaround planning.

  • Hands on SAP R3 Plant Maintenance or other CMMS system experience.

  • Experience on large-scale Engineering and/or Construction projects

  • Competence with planning systems (SAP, MS Project, MS Excel)

  • Primavera experience, with Primavera 6 being an asset.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and understand Design Drawings.

  • Ability to read and understand MTO’s

  • High level of computer skills, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent communication abilities

  • Strong leadership and people skills which translates into the ability to effectively work independently and with a team

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to liaise at all levels with Client and project team members.

  • Demonstrated commitment to the success of teams and the organization

  • Reliable, self-organized, self-starting, and self-improving

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Journeyman qualification

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology from a recognized educational institute
