We offer extensive global experience in upstream, midstream, downstream, marketing and distribution, and alternative energy segments serving the entire lifecycle of oil and gas company assets. Our expertise in providing the full range of mission-critical services is sought after by private-sector and national/state-owned oil and gas companies.
Business Development Director maintains contact with existing and/or new clients/prospects. Establishes and implements business development/sales policies. Identifies, develops, and organizes new business opportunities in the global marketplace. Determines client long-range needs for services and/or capital expenditures and solicits qualified bid/proposal opportunities. Maintains records of target area business development and project data. Specific responsibilities include:
Individually and in coordination with Marketing Services, determines the market demand for products and services offered by AECOM and its competitors. Identifies potential markets and monitors the trends that indicate the need for new or improved products and services.
Participates in and develops strategic planning, making recommendations based on the external competitive and market environments.
Identifies, develops and organizes overall capture strategies for new business opportunities in the target market.
Participates in and develops pricing strategies with an eye toward maximizing AECOM's share of the market and its profits while ensuring customer satisfaction and market competitiveness.
Collaborates with operations to develop teaming and operational strategies in response to the need of the market or client, including identification and negotiation with potential teaming partners.
Participates in preparation, negotiation, and finalization of contract documents with clients.
Engages senior management on specific opportunities and collaborates on bid-no bid decisions.
Prepares and submits ERC form, and schedules early ERC involvement and final ERC review/decision meeting.
Bears overall responsibility for the preparation of presentations, qualifications, and proposal documents. To varying degrees of day-to-day involvement, ensures that all aspects of the finished product complies with the client’s written request, and that the effort is consistent with our company’s strategic approach and is completed within budget.
May assist in the initial organization and staffing of new projects; in establishing communications between the group or subsidiary and client teams; and may serve in an ongoing sponsorship role.
Ultimately is responsible for all aspects of proposal preparation including collection of boilerplate materials (project job descriptions, resumes), technical writing, graphics, document editing, content review, printing, and final document assembly.
Develops proposal budgets and schedules. Coordinates input from engineering, estimating, planning, and other appropriate departments.
Facilitates inter-group communications when necessary.
Collaborates with operations and proposal staff to develop proposal budgets, outlines, and schedules; may participate in key estimate reviews.
Collaborates with Business Development Managers from other Groups, Industry Segments (Sub-Unit), and subsidiaries.
Supports operations and engineering offices, as necessary, to secure and maintain ongoing work.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Science, Construction, or Engineering from an accredited college or university or demonstrated equivalent.
Masters degree preferred.
Requires extensive and diversified experience in Construction or related industry with demonstrated experience in Business Development management.
Must have a proven successful Business Development campaign and track record developing new clients and alliances;
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close a deal.
Must have experience with major national accounts with a demonstrated record of applying innovative approaches to improve profitability.
Must have a demonstrated ability/record to consistently influence and deliver Business Development annuals goals.
