Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative and motivated Professional Transportation Engineer for immediate employment in the Burnaby, BC office. The appropriately qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate prior experience and relevant project work in the design and/or management of roadway and highway projects with a mix of civil infrastructure design and stakeholder coordination. This position provides the opportunity to manage, lead, and support roadway design efforts for exciting, challenging, and high-profile transportation projects involving highway and interchange designs.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications for roadway and highway projects

  • Collaborates and/or coordinates design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians

  • Coordination with clients, stakeholders and funding agencies

  • Assists Project Management staff with a variety of management assignments, including writing scopes of work, financial tracking, invoicing, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • P.Eng Required or demonstrable to be receiving P.Eng with experience

  • Experience designing and modeling roadway projects

  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with local BC municipalities, BC MOTI and Canadian work
